Thank You
It's such a simple phase
And yet uncommon, almost
Unheard of in these days

I have waited
So very long
To hear you greet me
With a "thank you" song

Yes, I'm disappointed, but I see
You truly don't understand
My grace, and abundant mercy
That abound on every hand

For every breath
At every wake
For the very steps you take
There should be a "thank you"

But I'll wait since I remember
Your nature, that you are dust
I'm patient, I'm willing to endure
And extend my grace and love

Until you understand
And finally can see
The depth of love I've given
Then your "thank you" I receive
