He will sometimes allow difficult circumstances to draw us closer to Him, but we don’t usually understand when this happens and often do just the opposite and move away from Him. My Story
My need to understand everything and my expectation that doing right things for God meant I wouldn’t have some challenges, which was not true. I also had heart issues that needed to be revealed and corrected that only difficult circumstances could reveal. My tendency was for me to react with doubt, unbelief, and isolation, but God knew and still wanted me to come closer. Only then could He teach me what I needed to know, and could I learn to trust Him more. Only then could I move forward with Him.
