Unbelief is a rotten root
That quenches joy and peace within
It eats alive the hope for which our Savior died

It must be taken up
At it's very core
To cease its destruction
In a soul once sound and sure

For there is freedom
When doubt is gone
Then rest we can again
And sing our sweet salvation song
